about me
Art and design have been woven into the fabric of my existence since I was knee-high to a crayon. Back in my elementary school days, I instinctively knew that coloring outside the lines was my true calling. So, when college rolled around, the decision was natural to study fine art. In 2005 I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting from Illinois Wesleyan University. Two years later, I studied art and design education at the Rhode Island School of Design and graduated with honors and a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2007.
After college, I taught art in the elementary and middle school setting for five years in both Boston and Chicago. My laid back and mellow persona did not harmonize with the structure of a school day, so I went back to school and got my certification in Graphic Arts from the continuing education department at Harper College. Shortly thereafter I began designing full-time and I haven’t looked back. Graphic design perfectly marries my meticulous self and my creative self—making it my dream career.
I like to spend my free time observing the world around me, relaxing in nature, and improving myself and my home. My non-creative hobbies reflect my simpler side. I enjoy going for incredibly long walks, spending time with my family, reading popular fiction, and doing 500 piece jigsaw puzzles.
